Lindsey Luebber is a veteran retail manager with 18 years experience serving companies like Old Navy, LUSH, Restoration Hardware, and most recently, Apple.  A Joplin High School graduate, she served as a Camp Mintahama Counselor before attending Syracuse University to study Political Science. She loves organizing things and creative hands-on projects, and values design and practicality from generations past.

She currently serves the community as a school bus driver for Neosho Schools, and enjoys establishing connections with the local community that lead to improving the quality of people’s lives. Preserving Mintahama, protecting it from development, and expanding its use to help people develop cottage industry businesses is Lindsey’s lifelong commitment.

The Development Director puts organizational infrastructure in place to deliver on Mintahama’s mission and supports the work volunteers are doing, and works to obtain the funding and talent to move closer to long term goals of community engagement.

Karen Garver is a Certified Missouri Master Naturalist since 2007 with the Chert Glades Chapter located in Joplin.  Karen has been elected to the Chapter Board, leading committees and serving as President for 5 years.  Her projects include the Redings Mill Bridge glade restoration project with the Chert Glades Chapter, and tree planting work after the 2011 tornado to help revive Joplin’s green spaces. She designed, planted, and maintains a Butterfly Garden in Landreth Park and assists Joplin Parks and Recreation with several parks Butterfly Gardens. 

Now retired from Liberty Utilities, Karen is Certified with Project Learning Tree, using trees and forests as windows on the world to increase students’ understanding of the environment and actions they can take to conserve it, and also Project Wild, which provides wildlife-based conservation and environmental education that fosters responsible actions toward wildlife and related natural resources.

Having served as an adult trainer for the Girl Scouts in both Kansas and southwest Missouri, Karen values Mintahama’s history and firmly believes in its great potential that needs to be shared. Being knowledgeable in identifying non-native and native trees, plants, rocks, and other wildlife, Karen will help further projects with Mintahama Inc that will benefit the Joplin area for groups & individuals to enjoy as Mintahama has for 75 years.

The Environmental Steward researches and informs decisions on infrastructure projects and oversees activities nurturing the native environment for the Mintahama property.

From Joplin High School to Missouri Southern State University freshman at age 16, Andrea (Corkle) Schneider completed her Bachelor of Science in Sociology, with Minors in Spanish Language and Criminal Justice, in December 2011. Andrea worked for the State of Missouri’s Division of Youth Services and for Cox Medical Center Branson as a Social Services Worker, then as a foster care case manager for Jasper County. She completed her Masters of Arts in Leadership through Oklahoma Baptist University in 2020 and is continuing toward a Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership.

Andrea Schneider is a lifetime Southwest Missouri resident, married to a teacher and a daughter of educators, and is a homeschool mother of two. Andrea’s love of outdoors and for teaching others leadership skills, outdoor education, science and technology is shaped by exposure to Mintahama which motivated her to pursue Girl Scouting. Andrea serves the community through her church, Newton County Fairgrounds committee, and as a lifetime Girl Scout, she supports the Northern Lakes Canoe Base in Ely, Minnesota and Mintahama Inc. of Joplin, Missouri.

The Education Director oversees summer programming, education special events and after school programs throughout the year, the NEST Daycare and Preschool, and development of  N.E.S.T. Academy, a nature-based education, science, and technology private school initiative.

Lauren Stauffer, an accomplished CPA, is passionate about impacting her local community through promoting the arts and advocating for wildlife and the environment.

Lauren attended Purdue University, graduating with her BA in German with Spanish Minor in 1980, her BS in Management in 1981, before completing graduate studies in Accounting in 1983. She held certifications in Indiana and Missouri as a CPA, with additional certifications in Long Term Care Planning, Estate Planning, and as a Senior Advisor. Her notable professional experience included work as a Senior Auditor for RCA, Accounting Manager for the Santa Barbara Medical Foundation Clinic, and Manager of Financial Services for Walt Disney Imagineering in Burbank, California. She has worked as an independent CPA and Financial Services Advisor in Joplin Missouri since 1995.

Lauren has served on the Board of Spiva Center for the Arts in Joplin Missouri from 2006-2012 as Treasurer, and since 2016 as a Governing Member.

Lauren is a member of the Mintahama Inc Governing Board serving as Chief Financial Officer.
