From Joplin High School to Missouri Southern State University freshman at age 16, Andrea (Corkle) Schneider completed her Bachelor of Science in Sociology, with Minors in Spanish Language and Criminal Justice, in December 2011. Andrea worked for the State of Missouri’s Division of Youth Services and for Cox Medical Center Branson as a Social Services Worker, then as a foster care case manager for Jasper County. She completed her Masters of Arts in Leadership through Oklahoma Baptist University in 2020 and is continuing toward a Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership.
Andrea Schneider is a lifetime Southwest Missouri resident, married to a teacher and a daughter of educators, and is a homeschool mother of two. Andrea’s love of outdoors and for teaching others leadership skills, outdoor education, science and technology is shaped by exposure to Mintahama which motivated her to pursue Girl Scouting. Andrea serves the community through her church, Newton County Fairgrounds committee, and as a lifetime Girl Scout, she supports the Northern Lakes Canoe Base in Ely, Minnesota and Mintahama Inc. of Joplin, Missouri.
The Education Director oversees summer programming, education special events and after school programs throughout the year, the NEST Daycare and Preschool, and development of N.E.S.T. Academy, a nature-based education, science, and technology private school initiative.
